I also appreciated the rebus heads up! I’ve never come across them before and I’m curious to know how often they’re used elsewhere. Are they usually intended for the kind of harder crosswords that you would do intentionally rather than casually?
I didn’t know a rebus was a thing? So without that hint I would have been stuck forever.

2 minutes 33 seconds! I definitely remember my first rebus and it was as frustrating as you’d expect. when I finally used “reveal square” my jaw literally dropped haha. now I mostly enjoy them and occasionally groan at them :P

I do a lot of crosswords and I’ve never seen a rebus before so thanks for the heads up, though I must admit I thought what it meant was that you’d put two letters in those squares and one would work with the across while the other worked with the down, so maybe an example would have been useful. I’d also find it very helpful if you said if an answer was more than one word, “okok” really got me this week.
