  1. I kept trying to highlight dogs and cats, but they weren’t on the list! Given the theme and the fact that my ex and I broke up due to, among other things, the fundamental mismatch between a dog person and a cat person, this seems poetically fitting…intentional, Sally?

I am the dog person. Her cats peed all over the place!

      • Incredibly, my wife suggested that instead of “rescue pets” I should have had rescue dogs, rescue cats, rescue ponies etc. etc.

So I think that errant “dogs” and “cats” is maybe the puzzle agreeing with her?

  2. sally i appreciate that this one was manageable both in terms of word-finding and emotional damage. i will stand here and take the long distance slander like the gay stereotype i am.

    • I like to think of puzzles as a kind of therapy, so it’s important they both calm you but also call you out

  3. I feel very called out by all the nonmonogamous baggage and also did you know that this puzzle doesn’t just contain “cats” and “dogs” but also… “purr”!!!???!!! 🥺

  4. If anyone else is having trouble on desktop (this is the first time I have!) resize your browser to vertical.
