I love pop culture sociology like this, especially when it involves lavender-shaded color coding. WNYC made a map using the US census findings to determine how many self-identified gay couples are residing in the city, and in which neighborhoods. This basically confirms the gayborhood stereotypes of the city. Lots of ’em in Chelsea!

Actually, the gay ladies seem to be in a tiny western corner of washington heights. for real, sunday brunch anywhere in that neighborhood = ten lesbians, and at least three babies.
