At this point, I just pretty much have a song from Wicked stuck in my head at all times. I’m not fighting it! The holiday season is now the Wicked season. Don’t text me unless it’s to say something like this:
So, naturally, I had to make a Which Wicked Character Are You quiz with a bunch of Wicked-themed questions. YOU’RE SO VERY WELCOME!
Sometimes fans are drawn to specific couples on television because we want relationships like theirs, or see a bit of ourselves in their connection. But because it is television, these couples are often on the rocks and if you have ever thought “you know what that couple is missing? ME!” then this is the imaginary lark of the day in quiz form for you!
There are so many iconic lesbian couples on television, but have you ever wondered... what if that couple was actually a throuple and the third person was YOU?
I mean I don’t know what else was to tell you, Mean Girls is queer culture. It was decided by a jury of your peers. There’s always been Damian (who’s officially “too gay to function”) and Janis, who we claimed as our own long before the Mean Girls universe was ready to do the same. And maybe you’ve heard the long established TikTok theory that the queen bee herself, Regina George, is most certainly a lesbian.
Whichever way you want to cut it and whichever pen you choose to write about it in your burn book, Mean Girls is gay gay gay. On Wednesdays we wear pink has been added into the bylines of the gay agenda. Now making fetch happen? That might take a little longer, of course.
Do you experience sandwich indecision? Generalized lunch indecision? Well, I am here to be your sandwich mommi and just tell you what to make/eat. And hey, if you don’t want to make the sandwich yourself, you can always order whatever result you get or go grab one from your local sandwich shop. (I previously did not have a good sandwich shop walking distance from me, but one opened this month, and I am THRILLED and perhaps thinking about sandwiches way too often, which has resulted in this quiz YOU’RE WELCOME.) I’ll also tell you a bit about your personality based on the sandwich, because why not! Also, recipes are provided for each sandwich! Get your lunch inspiration right here!
From denim cut-off vests to black leather motorcycle jackets to pull-over Patagonia fleeces, there are so many elements of outerwear one could, if one needed to for any reason, associate with the queer community, and each of those items have a certain personality to them, if you really think about it, or perhaps need to think about it, for the purpose of writing a quiz. Not all varieties of lesbian outerwear are accounted for in this quiz, but quite a few are, and now you should take it and see what happens!
It was a year chock-full of iconic lesbian moments — the lesbian party bus, the WNBA finals, Ali Krieger’s retirement, Bette and Tina getting married, the boygenius tour. Amongst those moments were a variety of characters and performances — fictional ones and “real” ones — that emerged into the public consciousness and upon which we now, today, will gaze upon and determine which one is in fact YOU.
2023 was as always an iconic time to be a lesbian. Who did you embody this year?
Hello, and I hope you’re having a very gay holiday weekend whether you celebrate or not. Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of my fiancée proposing to me, which is my own special Gay Christmas. But today I come to you with a silly little game where you plan a queer Christmas party and then I give you a straightforward gay (gayforward?) resolution for New Year’s. What makes the resolutions gay? Well, because I said so, obviously.
Sure this could be a straightforward resolution making exercise, but c’mon — what’s the fun in that?
Instead, let’s plan the ideal 90s movie marathon day from sun-up to sun-down, and I’ll tell you what “vibe” you’re bringing with you into the New Year. What do I mean by vibe in this instance? It’s a feeling, an ethos, a guiding light, an aura to wrap yourself in as you make your next steps and decide what’s best for you. Be the hero of your own story, be the main character. Here we go!
Hello and happy holigays!!! Here I am with another one of my quizzes that seeks to peer into the innermost corners of your soul. Are you a Hot Cocoa Mommi, a Fire Pit Butch, a Chaos Elf? We’re here to find out which gay holiday archetype that I made up fits you best. If you’re looking for additional holigay quiz fun, might I suggest my 2021 quiz that features ENTIRELY MADE UP HALLMARK LESBIAN MOVIES? I’m still very proud of that one.
I don’t know about you, but I sure do love Christmas movies. Tis the season to watch a Christmas movie, you know? But how many have you seen and how many can you identify from this quiz that is all over the map in terms of difficulty??
Despite progress being made in many other areas of media visibility, lesbians, bisexuals and queers aren’t exactly thriving in the Christmas movie department — but we’ve certainly got enough Christmas movie heroines to really sit down and figure out our true holiday hearts by matching ourselves to a fictional character through a series of seemingly random but intentionally crafted questions. (And stay tuned for the updated Lesbian+ Christmas movies list coming out later this week!)

I think of Christmas movies as primarily coming in two genres. There are the cheesy, predictable, often low-budget but almost always oddly satisfying Christmas romcoms that used to run on cable and now run on streaming. Your Hallmark movies, your Trello originals.
Then on the other side of things, you have your classic Christmas films. Back when Hollywood spent money and stars were stars (yes, one of the options in this quiz is Happiest Season and yes Happiest Season only came out three years ago… but look me in the eye and tell me it’s not already a classic? You cannot.)
Don’t get me wrong, I love both genres! But what happens if we combine these two things, what if we write the cheesy made-for-cable romcom of our dreams, and an iconic Christmas movie pops out instead. There’s only one way to find out! Fill out these writing prompts and I’ll tell you which iconic Christmas movie you’re destined to watch this year (preferably with some vegan hot cocoa and a cozy couch blanket, but don’t let me micromanage your joy!).
It’s been a thrilling year in women’s soccer, on and off the field, and many fans have found themselves drawn to the pitch not simply for the love of the sport but also to witness their celebrity crushes at play. Ultimately, every single possible result for this quiz (except one — you know who) is absolutely already taken by someone else (usually another elite athlete), but we’re not here for real, we’re here for fun!
There are so many lesbian movies. There are so many good lesbian movies. And those good lesbian movies have an immense diversity in type and who they’re about.
I understand if this doesn’t feel true — after all, Hollywood’s improved inclusivity has not come nearly far enough. But venture beyond the buzziest queer titles and you’ll find a whole world of cinema waiting for you.
Since putting together Autostraddle’s 50 Best Lesbian Movies of All Time and The Autostraddle Encyclopedia of Lesbian Cinema, people have often asked where to start. 250 total films can be daunting! That’s where this quiz comes in.
Answer these questions and you’ll get a personalized recommendation for an obscure lesbian movie. Every option is in our top 50 but has fewer than 5,000 logged views on Letterboxd.
And, hey, if you’re one of the few who have seen your result, let me know in the comments and I’ll recommend something else!
One very nice thing about art is that there are so many ways to interpret and experience said art, and for many gay Taylor Swift fans there have been a lot of gay ways to interpret her songs, from “You Need to Calm Down” to the entirety of “evermore” to specifically the song “betty” from folklore. From time to time, noted billionaire Taylor Swift has explained her actual intentions behind songs that have been interpreted through a queer lens, and while they don’t match up with the queer reading of them, I think that’s fine because, as aforementioned, artistic interpretations are fluid. This week, Swift seemingly addressed rumors about her queerness and the Gaylor movement in the prologue note of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” by explicitly saying that the relationships people thought she was having with women were just close friendships. So, right, these songs are not gay! (Well, except for “You Need to Calm Down” which is obviously gay, but from the perspective of an ally or whatever.) But also, who cares, I think Taylor Swift is doing fine overall? And if these not gay Taylor Swift songs feel gay to you then why not lean into that and enjoy it?
As Halloween approaches you are likely already eating a lot of candy, or perhaps stocking up on candy to hand out to the Trick-or-Treaters. As you do this you might find yourself wondering, “what candy am I?” I am here to tell you that you are a person, you are not candy. But I have created an imaginary world in which candy is gay and so are you and now it’s time to play in that world.
Mike Flanagan’s latest and final Netflix horror series The Fall of the House of Usher dropped just before the weekend, and we’re recapping an episode a day because there are just. so. many. queer. characters!!!!! But really, the full Flanaverse is full of queer characters in general. So many, in fact, that I tried to limit myself to main characters for this quiz because it was starting to get unruly! Characters from Usher, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Midnight Club are all possible results! Just answer a series of questions (I went with 13 questions, as it is indeed the spookiest number — did you watch Friday the 13th on Friday btw?)
And if you’re a fan of the Flanaverse, definitely tune into those The Fall of the House of Usher recaps! I’m breaking down all the Edgar Allan Poe references I can find, and I’d love to nerd out in the comments with fellow horror gays about this series about soooooo many bad gays!!!!!
Picture this: you’re innocently attempting to plan a Halloween Party. You’re not sure if you should name it “American Horror Story” or “Oh My Gourd!”. Will you have a theme? Will you prepare a playlist of songs or a playlist of people screaming at unexpected intervals? What will you wear? Will you serve caramel corn? Will you put peeled grapes in a bowl and say that the grapes are eyeballs? Will you put gummy worms on a table draped in a tablecloth dotted with pictures of bats and ghosts? These are very big decisions to make, and there is so much at stake.
But then, things suddenly get worse — you feel a breeze across your sweater’ed skin, like something ghoulish has passed by you, or passed through you. You think you can hear someone reciting Shakespeare through the vent, a knife sharpening through the wall. You think you can hear an erratic young writer chanting softly to herself as she composes terrible literary non-fiction. You think you can feel a spirit in the air. You are not sure if you can continue planning this Halloween party until you know specifically which ghost is haunting you.
Over the many years of psychological torture known as the hit television program Glee, we were introduced to so many lesbian, bisexual, queer, gay and trans characters, and we often wondered which amongst these characters were most like ourselves. Today is the day we will find out, once and for all! The potential answers on this quiz do not represent the full spectrum of Glee queers — just the ones who were actually Glee Club members and whomst I remembered well enough to include in the quiz (does anyone remember Spencer Porter, the gay jock who joined the Glee Club for Season Six? I personally did not?!?!). Also I made the executive decision that Quinn counts because she had sex with Satnana and liked it, don’t @ me.
