Lemon’s Team Pick:
Just because everyone is on their way to A-Camp does not mean that there aren’t still adorable things to talk about on the Internet. Similarly, just because I have to turn in my Senior Thesis on Monday does not mean I should be working on that instead of talking about adorable things on the Internet.
That said, in 2010, Brazilian filmmaker Daniel Ribeiro — who was also responsible for the award-winning short Café com Leite — made this heartwarming film about a boy who starts to feel feelings about his new classmate, Gabriel. My very own classmate William showed this to me yesterday and it made me feel feelings too. I do not speak Portuguese, but the title Eu Não Quero Voltar Sozinho roughly translates to “I Don’t Want to Go Back Alone.”
This film is not about Lesbians, but it is about Love. And Lesbians love Love. (Not to mention a Laundry List of other things that start with the Letter “L”).
(Pro tip: unless you speak Portuguese, it may help to turn on the English subtitles!)
I swear I’m only crying because I’m behind on my thesis. What’s your excuse?
I needed something like this so much! Thank you :)
Love it!Very sweet!
Yes! I saw this in the Queer Film Festival and fell in love instantly. I love the tone of the film and how naturally they both gravitates towards each other.
My icy stone heart just melted a little.
All together now: d’awwwwwww. (also the song in this is totally awesome!)
talking about portuguese short films…. ‘Palácios de Pena’ is worth watching. It’s depressing and gay(ish). two things that go together like peanut butter and jelly

also weird.I forgot to say it’s weird. but ‘weird’ is just like the thin layer of Nutella in your PB&J that makes it so effing delicious
That was adorable! but although the language is portuguese it’s not not a film from Portugal, it’s Brazilian. Just a small correction
thank you! i thought about that, but then i confused myself.
SO. VERY. CHARMING.
So cute! I love listening to Portuguese and Spanish, they are such beautiful languages.
too cute, I can’t even <3
so many feels
OMG How cute was that!
Oh, I remember this. It’s just so lovely, my number one memory is it’s poignancy followed by a happy-sad muddle of emotions. So yeah watch this, especially if you’re just going to find some other less worthy distraction if you don’t.
So freakin’ cute.
Aw, that was so cute. And I kinda covet the school shirt with the owl.
Soooo cute!
(all it took was a accidental confession to make it happen.)
That was so fucking heart warming! AAAAH! >.<
We showed this at our LGBT Film Festival in Pittsburgh. It was voted best Male Short Film. It was so good!
This was adorable :) loves it.
Am I the only brazilian here? =(
Não… ;)
Não (2) ;)
Não!
That was the cutest thing ever =] made my day =]
My gf just said ‘I wish you were blind’ to me after watching it. Lol and she is the romantic one.
That was ultra cute but I want more. I’m hooked.
Grinning like an idiot over here. That was super adorable. I love Love. <3
Zomg so freaking cute. <3
Nosssssa! Adorável :)
I must have missed this post before camp
SO CUTE. NEED TO WATCH AGAIN.
Go Brazil!
Oh my goodness! This is one of my favourite films ever! It’s so great to see it featured on here.
This movie is now being adapted into a long version, that will be released later this year. Also, they’ll be featured at this year Berlin Film Festival (I saw the letter one of the actors, Fabio, received. We studied Spanish together some years ago). It’s just… amazing!
AAAAHHHHHH
