Greetings kittens and catfish! Have you had a good workout lately? Three of my friends are prepping to run the Boston marathon on Monday. I’m sitting on a heating pad, nearly immobile, because my back is still sore from playing catch in the park FIVE DAYS AGO. Lesson learned. Winter may be over(ish?) in the Northeast, but spring weather activities can be equally demoralizing. Also, stretching is important.
But onto more pressing matters. Did you know that today is Grilled Cheese Day? Why don’t we have the day off? Laura’s savory quiche cupcakes also deserve their own holiday.
This week Sarah told us how to party in London and Brittani managed to return from Dinah Shore with both her girlfriend and her dignity! Lizz had feelings about this week’s gun violence-themed Glee episode and also taught us how to dress like Betty McRae in Bomb Girls because she’s multi-tasker like that. Riese shipped the stars of 23 Vintage Young Adult Novel Covers and Carmen interviewed the Coquette (which despite reports, didn’t have us shaking in our underwear). And ohmygay, France got marriage equality, Kaki King made us a playlist and we learned about 51 amazing transwomen on this year’s Trans 100 list.

(finger)blast from the past <-- my memoir title
This comment belongs nowhere but I wanted to share with you all that seeing a massing f*cking double rainbow today gave me the courage to come out to my mom. This rainbow was proportionally enormous to how gay I am so I figured it was time.
Congrats :)
oh my god
i came out to my mum today too!
*HI FIVES*
Blam! Yes!

Congrats!!! That’s awesome!
CONGRATULATIONS
I love you guys. Congratulations Susie!!
Seriously though, I love this place.
A++ for the award titles this week.
But seriously somebody else here had to be on that Evanescence message board. Surely there were other people with A LOT OF FEELINGS?
Can’t lie, I’m with you on this, minus the shame thing — I just feel the need to support your brave admission ~*~ here 4 u ~*~
IN MY FEILDS OF PAPER FLOWERS….
bam.
I was totally on an Evanescence forum… and the Open Door concert was my first concert ever… and I totally bonded with my dad for the first time after coming out when I found out he was a total closeted Evanescence fan and didn’t even know I went through a massive Amy Lee fan phase in high school.
So yeah. With you on that one.
Does it count if the first girl I ever slept looked like Amy Lee?
I love all of you.
I think the person who commented that her extended family owns Dalston Superstore probably deserves a comment award :)
this.
You guys are so nice, still in a state of shock here.
I love this place
I concur.
Wow! I can’t believe I got into the comment awards. I thought I was being so lame at the time. lol
