Hello, tortoiseshells! It’s been a rainy week on the east coast but it’s made for a pretty good transition into fall snuggling season, right? (Just trying to make lemonade here!)
This week we found out the reasons you and your girlfriend fight, heard about learning to drive later in life and got some advice about dealing with credit card debt. We also learned about how educators can make schools safer for LGBT youth and about the lies spreading about Planned Parenthood.
Anyway, what are you up to this weekend? Why not build a shelf, start a collection or see “This Is Me”?
P.S. Many thanks to the amazing Raquel for doing a stellar job on the Comment Awards last week while I was camped out on the beach in Maine!

No, really, Fuck The Advocate.
And praise Edith Windsor. We love you Edie! Thanks for everything!
Edie is the best. I watched Edie & Thea’s documentary on Netflix. It’s amazing!
“camped out on the beach in Maine”
I hate to break it to you, but Mulan won’t be in Storybrooke for a few more weeks :/
Sade, real talk, I am also super attracted to people of multiple genders who do what I think of as femme masculinity and that is also my gender expression which I thought were two things that could not go together for so long.
Also I probably blocked out that time the Advocate picked the pope as the person of the year. Friendly reminder this is a dude who has literally compared trans folks to nuclear weapons
I’ve never been quite sure what to call my gender expression or how to describe the type of people I usually find myself attracted to. Can I borrow the term femme masculinity? Because that is such an awesome and accurate description.
And the Advocate picking the pope as person of the year was pretty fucked up. Sometimes it’s like we are so used to getting the crumbs we forget that we can ask for more.
Absolutely! :)
