Crystal finally watched that L Word show, and she hs a lot of feelings about it, including most prominently (obvs), WT-fucking F? Also, we took it upon ourselves to make you a supermodel at the Rodeo Disco with our super-fancy photogs Robin Roemer, Sin Garcia and Des’Ree. For the next week only, all the photos are here for digital download & souvinier prints. Want a cliquey pride recap? Me too! BTW have you seen the new Robin Roemer dot com? Check out portrait portfolio to see some of the sweet stuff she’s done @autostraddle.
Also! We’re on a hunt for some raffle winners: Kristina Kelly, B. Abisla, Xenia Blanco and Eleanor Anderson. Is that you? Email alex@autostraddle.com by the end of the week or forever hold your peace.
MONEY HONEY: HRC logo featured in orbitz ad. It’s like a secret code that if we want to give them our money, that’s cool, they’ll take it. Yeah! (@towleroad)
OH FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC! This is what we’ve all been CLAMORING for on the teevee! Not a full-blown “relationship” with a woman (YIKES! Ring the ALARM!), but “a little Sapphic experimentation” between lesbian roommates.” That has NEVER BEEN DONE and is always done REALLY WELL. I mean, certainly if Claire can heal from physical wounds, her soul will remain untarnished for Jesus. (more…)
Today on Autostraddle: Reading is AUTOFUNDAMENTAL so Riese & Laneia are plowing through the lesbionic young adult cannon, recap style part two!!! Carly tackles a week of finales and surprises in her Tuesday Televisionary (my fave so far), and our Sunday Gay-Day piece rolls on, now with transcripts from all our interviews. Our video is in the top 100 (News & Politics) on YouTube!
+ A gay woman is attacked outside a Seattle club where Samantha Ronson was DJ’ing. Samantha is, quite understandably, not happy about this at all: “It’s 2009 people, why are we still fighting each other?” (@ohnotheydidnt)
+Did you watch GLEE last night? Did you LOVE IT? I actually maybe liked the preview just as much as the show itself, but regardless I’d rather watch Glee than anything else on the teevee, and they got me at the end with the Journey! Here’s 12 other TV musicals. You can watch Glee on Fox’s webpage. (@the daily beast) (more…)
Best Autostraddle Week Ever: For Reals. Riese interviewed and Robin photographed Celesbian Superstar Julie Goldman, lesbian love heated up on Grey’s Anatomy and therefore also on Carlytron’s Tuesday Televisionary, y’all creamed all over the Scorching Steaming Hot Autostraddle Hot 100 and Stef’s The Beat on the Street covered Amanda Palmer’s play as well as Vivian and Bat for Lashes shows. Also our latest girl-on-gallery is “Say it with a T-Shirt”!
Today: What a musical week we’ve had! Laneia (formerly known as Green) debuts our new Girl-on-World feature — it’s super-awesome, we’re really excitant about it and you should check it out rightnow! Also, our Autostraddle Roundtable tackles the tough questions — “Who’s REALLY Hot right now?”
Last night (Saturday the 16th) we had some serious internet drama with yahoo! finance pushing a blatantly bigoted political agenda on their site with a story that had nothing at all to do with finance. Luckily we were totally successful in getting them to pull it off, cover their tracks somewhat clumsily, and go back to “business as usual.” We’re really happy about this and thank everyone for helping and you can read all about it here: “Fixin’ to Punch Yahoo! Finance in the Face: #YAHOOFAIL.” (more…)
Hello! It’s Team Hangover! As announced last week, Sunday is Funday where we’ll attempt to counteract the inherently depressing aspects of Sundays with happiness, fun, unicorns, glitter, kisses, love, photos of hot girls and cream cheese. This particular post will evolve with more being added as the day goes on.
Also! As I said yesterday — we’re rallying the intern troops! Email autostraddle@gmail.com before nightfall on Tuesday, April 28th. Tell us how many hours a week you can devote to AS (at least two), where you live, what computer/internet skills you’ve got, why you wanna be an intern and what you are willing to sacrifice for the revolution (your life? your feet? your chapstick?) If you’re already an “intern” in any capacity, email us anyhow. Questions? We’ll answer them! We’ll respond to everyone after April 28th. Also we’re open to any college credit situations, say the word.
