Goooooooooooooooooooooood morning! I’m currently sitting in the library with a cutie surrounded by families and puppies (it’s hot and the library is a cooling station for ALL Austinites, not just humans) and it’s beautiful. Community is a beautiful thing y’all. If I’m being honest with you, this week was not my best week. I felt overwhelmed by every single emotion and useless and it was just…hard. Have you ever felt like that?
Luckily, date nights exist. And Alamo Drafthouse. And ridiculously silly Fast & Furious movies. There’s something about sitting in the dark for three hours unable to use your phone that reminds you that you’re a real person, who laughs earnestly and feels things and not just a weird internet personality who too often says “lol” in real life without actually laughing at anything. I hope you had a moment this week that helped you remember that you, too, are a whole, real, person. Because you are! You’re real! The fact that your nose does not grow when you lie is proof!
Ok, now the news.

+ Why Hayley Kiyoko calls herself a lesbian.
I didn’t want a label at all, but once I released my music, there was this outpour of support for the fact that I did like girls. I learned that by embracing my label as a lesbian, I was helping normalise that for so many other people.

Okay buds, please stay cool, it’s a fucking scorcher out there. Love yourself harder than you think you deserve, tell your friends they’re amazing, forgive someone who hurt you (if you can), and don’t forget to do your skincare routine!!! I love you, we’re gonna survive this hot girl/boi/them/planet summer and before we know it, we’ll be wearing sweaters and pants and drinking iced coffee (because we’re gay). Have a good Sunday and a better week! Kiss a baby!
