Happy Sunday jimbobs! We’re officially in the middle of the longest/weirdest week of the year: the seven days leading up to January 1st. I’ve been doing yearly reflections and decade reflections, and setting my my Passion Planner for next year, and baking cinnamon rolls and watching War and Peace. A very normal way to spend a week! Time feels endless is a not great, but also not bad way – what do you do during this time of year (especially if you don’t work)??
Here’s some news from this slow-ish news week.
+ Meryl brought fries to the set of Little Women.
+ Here’s some cool queer TV from this year to check out, if you want to binge!
+ Crissle and Kid Fury are put to the test by Essence.com
+ A queer reading list from LGBTQ-identified authors at PDX Book Festival.
+ And here are some 2020 queer reads to check out!
+ BENT is an immersive LGBTQ dance night at 9:30 Club in DC
+ Liv Hewson brought “real-world” queerness to their recent roles.
meryl streep! love of my life! i don’t actually have anything to add but i’m contractually obligated to appear from the ether when she’s mentioned.
Saved me doing it!
Watched Death Becomes Her on Christmas Day and it was the best festive choice
I definitely get very reflective this time of year ~ last year on New Year’s eve I made space for myself physically and mentally, took a long bath and did my own end of year ritual visioning, and went to bed early with that energy. Honestly, it was the best year end/ start I’ve ever had.
Avoid yearly reflections and decade reflections like the plague because sometimes looking back starts to become of form of self harm.
Just put it all completely unsorted into a box labeled “I Lived Bitch” and keep moving.
You should try very hard to refrain from reflecting on the last year or even decade, since doing so might lead to unhealthy levels of self-harm. https://space-barclicker.com
