Hey! It’s me! Al! Hi! You ever get so worked up over something that you need to take a run to get rid of all the anxious energy but it’s 105° and the air quality isn’t safe for asthmatics? I have.

Hope you’re surviving what seems like maybe the hottest weekend of the year! We love a heatwave, if only because I can push my AC up to 79° and have it still seem fairly cool inside. I love playing tricks on my body! Anyway, hope you’re staying cool, calm, and collected, or at least that you feel safe enough to go on a run at night to work off any hot, anxious, and scattered energy.

A lesbian couple launched a landmark bid on Thursday to win legal recognition for same-sex partners in Serbia, saying they wanted to step out and stand up for LGBT+ rights in the Balkans.

It is the first such legal challenge to be filed in Serbia, which has come under fire in the West over minority rights and widespread homophobia.

+ Read about an upcoming documentary about the women working to preserve lesbian herstory.

he Archivettesdirected by Megan Rossman who is assistant professor and chair of communication at Purchase College and an award-winning documentary filmmaker, profiles the founding of the “non-hierarchical, collectively-run archive that preserves the various expressions of lesbian identity, love, and solidarity” and has become the world’s largest collection of materials by and about lesbians. For more than 40 years, the org has chronicled lesbian herstory through many of the major LGBTQ+ historical moments. But with the co-founders in their mid-70s, the group is now facing a new predicament: how to safeguard and transmit such invaluable materials and the stories they contain to younger and future generations.
