Cameron is an illustrator hailing from Ohio. When she’s not drawing, she’s probably very, very quietly having loud thoughts about: queer things, her eventual shop, what to watch next on Netflix, food, names for her future pets, and tumblr.

  1. i like this a lot! my life stages has closely paralleled yours, and yes, thank the lord, i believe the Sadness stage(s) in my life has finally passed. it finally ran out of fuel to run on because i also realized that i’d been giving it too much space for too long.
i bet a lot of people can relate, so congrats to all of us for making it through! and it serves as proof that it IS possible to make it through. just try to keep ya head up and look forward to that next stage. yee haw!!

  2. So so good. I also dislike bow ties and suspenders so I feel you on that AND ALSO your depiction and words about you being a baby blob made me laugh out loud

  3. Spoiler alert:
Everyone is sad! At least a little bit. A lot of the time.
People who are preposterously happy are either incredibly fortunate outliers or disturbingly psycho.
Once you realize that everyone worth anything is a little sad, a little broken, a little bit unfit for the normalcy that supposedly exists (another spoiler:it really doesn’t) you’ll be ready to move to the next panel and that’s:

    Rocking it.

Because fuck it, life’s a shit show, but you put on pants today and used a toothbrush. It’s a win worth celebrating, so you put on 90s rock music that you sing aloud to and you’ll be playing a damn air guitar in the next panel.

  4. Haha honestly just excited to hear there’s something beyond the “performative Gay” phase for myself

Also, I feel ya, hope the next phase is very very good 💙

  5. I want to speak up in defense of your baby self, I bet you were curious and resilient and full of personality, even if you don’t remember it yourself. Here’s to your next word, may it be awesome.

  6. I’m impressed by your ability to translate a life’s worth of feels into something so succinct, deeply personal, and relatable. Can’t wait to see more in 5 years. :)

  7. I feel this on a deeply personal level. I went through very similar “categories” in basically the exact same order. It’s rough. You’re not alone. And you will definitely find a word you’re proud of.

Also, I love your art style.
