This is the best! I am currently in the shorn baby sheep phase of the cycle.

Fan freaking tactic. I love the continuum. I’m contemplating heading back to the baby sheep phase because it’s currently covering my ears AND touching my neck and I just don’t think I can handle it anymore! But it’s going up tonight so it’ll make me about 5 inches taller ;) ha

hm, fabio is quite a bit lower on the butch spectrum then i would’ve guessed hahaha

i currently just cut my own hair a la a 12 year old at summer camp and it looks just as bad as you’d assume…but i’m not gonna get it cut professionally until it grows back out some because woah baby this is embarrassing.

This is great! My short hair is currently in the “this length is acceptable” window (the first couple of weeks post-haircut are “where did my hair go?”) but it’ll start the mulleting process before too long. Also my hair is wavy and gets super weird during the mullet-in-progress stage. Basically I let it grow until it really starts to annoy me, and then it’s back to the baby sheep stage.

This is perfect and a 100% accurate representation of truth. And “Bechdel duck butt”! I’ve been calling it Tintin hair but this is a much better name.

(although I’m slightly iffy about “perceived as male” and “perceived as female”. like, I’m definitely in the lower left corner but I’m not perceived as male and don’t intend to be seen that way? maybe I’m misreading it?)

I interpreted it as how comfortable hairdressers (very generalized, here) are at giving people these cuts? maybe I’m getting that wrong. But my GF definitely had a hard time finding someone who wasn’t afraid of going as short and “masculine” as she wanted… They always held back and kept it in the safer “tegan and sara” style, which fringes a little closer on the “feminine” side of hair.

  • Hi there
    March 15, 2014 at 8:00 am

I used to have long long looong curly curly hair, but I cut it in a slightly crazy fit and now I straigten it once every two weeks and keep it straight a la a 1960’s secretary with the cute little flip and everything. My girlfriend says its slightly reminiscent of Alice Piezecki, so I know I’m cute! <3

This is why I can’t have short hair! My hair goes from baby sheep to adorable to mullet in approximately 2 days :P

This is so great. I love the “infinite and unemployable” color. And I’m getting a haircut today, wut wut! I will try to be as cute as the shorn baby sheep in “Wallace and Gromit and the Close Shave” :)

My hair stays in shorn sheep and so cute for a a good amount of time. But when it starts mulleting it is terrible and I hate it!!!

I’m currently somewhere just to the right of “girl, interrupted winona ryder” and slowly making my way over the “long” horizon. Maybe that little dot should be called “baby bieber?”
    Great little comic!

My hairdresser once said to me, “I don’t want to make you look too butch.” I replied, “Oh, no, I don’t mind if I look a bit butch.” Then he gave me the greatest haircut ever.

This is everything. That cycle up top is so accurate I cannot. My hair looks cute as fuck now, but give it like three weeks and I’ll have the mullet again.

So, so, so very accurate! I’m currently at the mulleted stage of the short hair cycle, and slowly sliding back down the colour spectrum as my natural hair outgrows the fading pink work.

But one day I will be cute and pink again… one day!

I looked up pictures of hansen circa mmmbop and my hair is most definitely closest to that, although i don’t know if i would put it in the butch category. Also i just gave myself an undercut and i’m really unsure about it, so i agree that it doesn’t fit on the chart.
