Beloved queer power couple Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli conceived, carried, and birthed an entire human baby into the world without us having a clue it was happening! They just announced it casually on Instagram — on Mother’s Day — last night! George Elizabeth is their daughter’s name, and she was born on April 11th. (That’s two Aries in one house, if you’re counting. May the fire goddess bless and keep you, tender flames.)

I went back to do a quick scan-through to see if we’d missed any clues that Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli were having a baby, and the only hint there was even the thought of a baby on their brain was the Samira-sized teddy bear Samira bought at Christmas last year — which, let’s be honest, was probably for Samrira.
Congratulations, you two mamas! We’re so happy for both of you! Welcome to the world, George Elizabeth, and congratulations on being born after TikTok has erased all traces of heteronormativity; you’ll never know a time when everyone wasn’t already just gay!
