Rosie O’Donnell and her artist girlfriend, Tracy Kachtick-Anders were together about a year but news broke today that they recently split. Maybe I’m a prophet, but I started asking friends last week if they thought Rosie and Tracy were still together because there has been little mention of Tracy on her SiriusXM radio show as of late, especially around Christmas and Valentine’s Day. They would occasionally Skype or g-chat together while on-air, evidenced by Rosie informing the audience of Tracy’s commentary as the show went along.
Rosie joked a while back that “We’re the Gay-dy Bunch! It’s a challenge, but when you fall in love with someone, they come with a whole bunch of things, including children” — adding that she fell for Tracy because of her love for kids.
Per the lesbian handbook, Rosie moved Tracy’s six children from Galveston Texas to Nyack, New York shortly after meeting each another on Rosie’s blog and became an instant family (Rosie has four children from her relationship with Kelli Carpenter). For those keeping count, that’s a total of TEN kiddies to keep tabs on. Not stressful at all.
“Rosie and Tracy never officially lived under one roof. They have lived near one another for quite some time, and their families still socialize and they see each other frequently.”
A friend of theirs adds:
“They have definitely split up, but it is very complicated because their kids are very close. They still spend a lot of time together.”
Meanwhile, Rosie’s ex-partner, Kelli Carpenter has been dating New York City cabaret singer –and longtime R Family Vacations performer– Anne Steele, since the summer. Rosie also recently discovered Twitter and has perhaps the most ridiculous feed since Kanye West.
Rosie also appeared on a last week’s episode of the NBC series Who Do You Think You Are, which helps celebrities find their root by tracking down long lost family members and other such things. It’s like Antiques Roadshow but for your heart, soul & sense of self.
