try getting a pre-paid credit card. They’re like debit cards in that you can just go and get one, except you can use them online!
Seriously, go to wherever you DO bank, and be all ‘hey, do you guys have pre-paid credit cards?’ and if they don’t, they’ll help you find somewhere that does, and if they do, you give them some money and they put it on a card for you. Works WONDERS.
I’ve also seen pre-paid Visa cards at post offices, try those :)
US post offices don’t have the same retail options as Australian ones, for the record. It’s possible they have prepaid Visas at USPS outlets, but I would be surprised.
