+ At the Television Critics Association summer press tour, CBS execs agreed they’ve got a straight white man problem. This isn’t the first time they’ve been called on it at TCA and promised they’re “working on it.” I’m mentioning it as an excuse to post my all-time favorite The L Word quote.
+ Speaking, as always, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, your pals Kristin Russo and Jenny Owen Youngs of Buffering the Vampire Slayer (among many other things) are writing their first comic book!
+ Variety wonders what it will take for the Emmys to close the gender gap.
+ TVLine has a Daytime Divas season one finale post-mortem with the showrunner.
+ Zoe Saldana is launching a Latino-focused digital media brand called BeSe

+ Atomic Blonde won the box office on its opening weekend. Kayla ranked Charlize’s coats from the movie, I hope you know.
+ Blue is the Warmest Color and The Handmaiden made Indiewire’s list of 25 most sexy movies of the 21st century

I am sooo excited for the upcoming season of Arrested Development. I think Jeffery said this season will have more of the cast in the same room at the same time.
Bloody hell! That short just effin killed me. I am at work, sitting at my desk pouring tears into my Greek yogurt after a 4min 5 sec short film that yanked on my heart stings as hard as they pulling apart theirs in the film.

CBS literally had the same answer last year for this problem. And the year before that. They are a broken record with no plans to actually do anything about it. Also, pay your damn actresses and poc the same as their white male co-stars! Especially if they have been they are series regulars who have been with the show the same amount of time. Criminal Minds and Hawaii 5-0 are revolving doors for a reason.
I’m just kinda gobsmacked when people say “Blue Is The Warmest Color” is sexy. Graphic doesn’t necessarily equal sexy. The love scene in Carol, heck even the kiss before the sex, is about a billion times sexier than the entirety of that film.

Atomic Blond IS worth a look. (Yes, the tropey death pissed me off, it’ll piss you off, tastes like chicken, etc.) BUT IT IS WELL DONE. My daughter loved it.
