The Wrap has done some legit social media sleuthing to come to the conclusion that Tessa Thompson’s bisexual badass babe Valkyrie is going to be in the next Avengers movie. They basically compared her Instagram with Chris Hemsworth’s Instagram, since they’ve been filming Men in Black together — Tessa in the MIB suit, in case you missed it — and concluded they left London’s MIB set together to fly to Atlanta together to get off the plane together to go to the Avengers set together. Just like you, I’m already primed for this kind of Instagram recon and I totally buy it.
The U.S. Women’s Basketball team is highly favored to win the World Cup, and rightly so; they’ve been playing like wizards. Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi are making most of the news and every time I read their names together in a headline, I remember that during the WBNA Championship, the NYT called them frenemies.Â
MEL AND SUE ARE GOING TO PLAY BICKERING ASSASSINS ON THEIR OWN SIX-EPISODE SITCOM.
Gaby Dunn’s short documentary film, 40, will appear at BufferFest this weekend; tickets are still available!
I just want you to know that last week, when I posted that list of Carol Danvers’ outfits ranked by lesbianism, we have never had so many men flipping out in our Twitter mentions. I wish I could believe, as easily as them, that Marvel would make their first woman-fronted superhero movie about a LESBIAN.
The absolute number one thing you have to read this week is Glamour‘s profile of Rita Moreno.
Â Anna Paquin and Holliday Grainger are apparently super good in their Tell It to the Bees adaptation. It screened at TIFF. I can’t wait to watch it and review it!
Sandra Bernhard is joining the cast of Pose for season two.
The official Doctor Who full trailer is finally here and I haven’t caught my breath since I first watched it.
Veronica Mars is coming back, I guess. Elle profiled Jameela Jamil. I didn’t put those two stories side-by-side for Eleanor and Tahani reasons (yes I did).
Here’s one (1) deleted AvaLance scene from last season’s Legends of Tomorrow for you.
The VIDA cast is back on set for season two!!!!
Will you please get a load of this Charmed writers’ room? And then check out the new trailer!

Lena Waithe and Halle Berry are producing a Boomerang sequel for BET. More news from the #HardestWorkingWomanInHollywood beat: Waithe’s TBS comedy, Twenties, has cast its leads, and it’s time to get hyped.
Twenties follows the adventures of a queer black girl, Hattie (Gibbs), and her two straight best friends, Marie (Elmore) and Nia (Graham), who spend most of their days talking shit and chasing their dreams. It’s a show about friendship, finding love, and messing everything up along the way. “Queer black characters have been the sidekick for long enough; it’s time for us to finally take the lead,” Waithe said at the time of the pilot pickup.
Harlots has been renewed for a third season! If you haven’t read Riese’s season two review, you should rectify that immediately.
Kate McKinnon has joined the untitled Fox News sexual harassment movie, alongside Allison Janney, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Margot Robbie.
Anyone But Me is celebrating its tenth anniversary!
Showrunner Salim Akil talked to Variety about season two of Black Lightning!
