A. is a totally complete incomplete paraplegic and thirty-something hanky-in-the-pocket cartoonist weirdo! They spent the majority of their young life sketching in hospitals, and experienced their first heartbreak at age 8 during game 6 of the ’96 NBA championships.
I love this series so much man….I wish it was every week!
And this one I resonate with a lot, I have quite a lot of scars and the only one like is a burn on my hand between my thumb and index finger which I got the first time I used my new oven. It’s not exactly pretty looking and it kind of looks like my hand split apart and re-joined (but it was nowhere near that dramatic lol) but it’s the only accidental mark on my body and for that I love it
Oh no feels much feels, I’ve got a treasured scar too.
I’ve got 3 scars from my sibling, and 1 because of him. Because of one of a very few precious moments where were just kids, just siblings getting into normal kid mischief.
Not a “worthy of life” and “unworthy of life” battling like Iberian lynx kittens.
Plus that 1 scar looks an alchemical symbol.
I mean the ones on my face are kinda cool because they’re one line away from being a Z like Zorro, but also really not cool because the wrath of someone who as general rule is not suppose to hurt me put them there.
I don’t have any surgical scars, but I feel a very similar affection for the ones with adventures attached them. Managed to fall on metal roofing. Piss off a cat. Jump into a pool, miss and hit an patio umbrella stand instead. Get hit in the eyebrow with a stick being thrown for a dog that did backflips before catching them. Worked in a bakery(burns). Try to trim cardboard with a boxcutter and roll a 1 on my aim. You’re right, they’re mine. Thank you for reminding me today.

That was lovely and a whole 30 seconds in which I thought about nothing else. That's the power of your comics, Alyssa. Thanks.
