First time for everything. Really not your place to tell someone else how to feel. They were expressing their valid reactions to the piece, and respectfully asking for a small accomodation. Its already hard enough to ask for things like that. Comments like “get over it” are both unhelpful and seriously disrespectful.
When it rains, it pours huh? Still, I am glad that things turned out at least 3/4 well! Your troubles aside (my sympathies!), that was a great read.
When my sister got married, I engaged in some “wedding party action,” but she wasn’t happy when she found out and yelled at me for that. But hey, I got to make out with a cute someone, so that’s a glass at least half-full! =)
