Welcome to NSFW Sunday! And week two of my campaign “talk about Hamilton everywhere even when also talking about lesbian sex.”
+ Vibrators are cool now, duh:
“Not only are vibrators not invisible, they’re hardly even avoidable. New vibrators are unveiled to the awed public at TechCrunch conferences. They are reviewed on Gizmodo. They comprise valid talking points for celebrities, including Barbara Walters. (Walters named hers ‘selfie’, Alicia Silverstone endorses “eco-friendly” vibrators, Beyoncé’s is allegedly gold-plated and Maggie Gyllenhaal claims an ‘incredible collection’.) High-end companies market them as luxury products. One 2012 survey found that 52.5% of women used them, whether alone or with a partner, and that women who used vibrators were actually more likely to take care of their sexual health by going to the gynecologist for regular exams.
It’s odd to admit this, but vibrators may have gone way beyond not being shameful. They may just be cool.”
+ Omgyes is a new way to learn about vagina-based sexual pleasure based on touch videos. Have you ever wanted to touch a stranger’s vagina and listen to what she likes and why, while also using your tablet/phone/thing and not actually interacting with anyone? This is the website for you. (That sounds flip. This looks rad.)
+ The Nooky Box is a forthcoming sex subscription box that calls itself “first and only curated sex subscription box created with everyone in mind — regardless of relationship status, gender or sexual orientation.”
+ There are worse places to find kinky people than on OKCupid.
+ Tinder knows how hot you are.
+ If you want to learn to flirt with plausible deniability Mallory Ortberg has your back:
“There are people who will tell you that the most important thing to remember when trying to pick someone up is confidence, that you miss all the shots you never take, that the worst thing that can happen to you when you put yourself out there is hearing the word “no.” These people have never asked a woman out in West Hollywood only to have her laugh in their face as she says “I’m straight,” then fall down a flight of stairs and I had to get a ride to the emergency room and it turns out I broke my ankle.
Don’t listen to those people. Listen to me. A thousand horrible things can happen to you. The most important thing you can do in life is establish plausible deniability that you have ever liked anyone, anywhere, ever. Here, then is a guide for the cautious. Remember: nothing ventured, nothing ventured.”
+ There are lots of bad reasons to move in with someone, but only one good one:
“[A]sking yourself why exactly you want to take this step is more important than how long you’ve been together. ‘Moving in because you want to share your life with a partner who loves and supports you is a great reason,’ says Steinberg. ‘Feeling desperate because your lease is up is not.'”
+ From the Autostraddle Lesbian Sex Archives: these queer and lesbian sex books will make you better in bed, and include Girl Sex 101, Fucking Trans Women, The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex For Women and more:
“Sometimes you’re born instantly knowing everything there is to know except that wait, that never happens. Whether you’re new to sex, want to try something different, or curious about learning more, these ten queer and relevant-to-queer-interests sex guides are the perfect place to start.”
+ Also, what sex toy are you? (You are not the Ceramix. No one is the Ceramix.)
“Body language is important- carry an actual shield”. Touché
I AM SO HERE FOR YOUR HAMILTON REFERENCES.
ME TOO.
I have been listening to that song on repeat for several days.
It’s obviously the best song. If it’s wrong to be half in love with a fictionalized version of a real-life historical person, I don’t want to be right.
“Wait for it” though…
I am not the ceramix
When Hamilton is played by a woman, ‘Satisfied’ is the song I’ll find queerest and hottest. (“You strike me as a woman who has never been satisfied…you’re like me…I’ve never been satisfied.”)
Tumblr link for that last pic seems to be broken or misspelled (& it is a very wonderful photo!)
that’s what i’m here to say, too. oh that photo.
Oh, I’m so glad that link isn’t working for other people too, because netflix just stopped playing in the middle of The Duke of Burgundy and won’t let me keep watching and what if my computer had some sort of prude virus? I just feel really weirdly judged by my technology right now.
the tumblr seems to have vanished?!?
+100 for this week’s title.
OMGYES looks like it could be a valuable (ahem) resource for inexperienced gaybies like myself :D
So, my mom had a nerve sheath tumor removed from her thumb two weeks ago. (Don’t worry, she’s okay – it was benign.) Anyway, she went to the doctor a few days ago so that he could check on how her thumb was healing, and the first thing he did was whip out a hitachi magic wand and ask her if she knew what it was!
It wasn’t some clumsy, license-revoking attempt at a pickup line, or anything. Apparently it’s been proven that applying vibration to wounds and scar tissue really helps them heal and fade! Just one more reason why vibrators are the very best.
So here for the Hamilton innuendos, whoo!
Just here to say I have the bra in the first pic and it is sooo comfy! And, apparently, sexy! Looks better on her tho (and I’m ok with that ?)
Thanks for sharing that omgyes.com link. We got it – way worth it – inspiring some new play tonight and made me speak up about stuff I hadn’t ever thought to.
Many on the site are les and bi, though it’s completely cis-gendered and doesn’t even bring up trans women. if you’re gonna do something so rad, why not go full rad?
OMGYes looks amazing! Thanks for that.
I couldn’t help myself. I just had to Google it x3

Also, I liked the movie “Hysteria”. Watched it right after watching “Tipping The Velvet”. I don’t know why lol
