+ The New Yorker weighed in on the lesbian sex scenes in Blue is the Warmest Color with a discussion between Richard Brody, who liked the film’s use of sex, and Emily Nussbaum, who had more complicated thoughts.
+ Good Vibrations is hosting the Quickies Erotic Short Film Competition and has a series of interviews with the filmmakers leading up to the competition. One filmmaker, Sara Koppel, addresses the clit:
“My film “Little Vulvah and her clitoral awareness” is a short story about a girl who wakes up as from a dream, and then she sets out to explore nature, while discovering her clitoris.
This film is made with a great desire to create dialogue about women’s sexuality and taboo areas like women discovering their clitoris. And I’m hoping to get mothers and daughters to “dare” talk about this awareness and to encourage openness in the field.”
+ Fucking Trans Women, a zine about the sex lives of trans women, was released in October 2010 by Mira Bellwether, who Kennedy interviewed about creating a how-to guide for sex, having sex without it becoming a gender studies class and everyone’s different stories. Though it was originally released only as a .pdf, it has since been released in print.

‘There’s a strong relationship between unemployment and low sexual function, according to the literature,’ [Professor Kaye Wellings, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine] said.
‘That is to do with low self-esteem, depression. At the other end of the scale iPads and computers have all breached the boundary between the home and the bedroom.’”
“In my favorite fantasy I lock the door behind us, tenderly kiss your mouth and begin to slowly undress you. After undoing the tiny buttons on your blue satin blouse, I slip my palms beneath the fabric and slide it off your strong shoulders. I gently bite your neck, stroke the rippling curve of your ribs, draw out your dark nipples and suck four of your fingers into my mouth. Eventually, I drag your skirt and panties to the floor.”
