Pop Culture Fix: Love, Victor’s Bebe Wood and Her Queer Character Both Say “If It’s Hot, It’s Hot” Which Is Hot

Oh hey, me again! I went outside this weekend and almost melted to death so this week I’m staying within earshot of my air conditioner while I collect fun news for you for a brand new Pop Culture Fix!

+ Actress Bebe Wood and her Love, Victor character Lake share the same “if it’s hot, it’s hot” mentality about attraction. Which is hot. (The mentality is hot. I’m sure she’s very attractive but I could practically be her mother so I just see a wee bebe, pun intended.)

+ Tanya Saracho, creator of Vida, is starting a TV writing lab for Latinx writers and I for one could use more shows like Vida in my life.

+ Batwoman story editor Maya Houston talks about writing Ryan Wilder as a Black queer woman herself.

+ First looks at the movie character Supergirl look pretty gay if I do say so myself.

+ In absolutely devastating news, Naya Rivera’s final role, the voice of Catwoman in an upcoming animated Batman film, premieres this week.

+ Deadline has some teasey teasers about Season 2 of Work In Progress.

+ Lena Waithe’s Rising Voices initiative created 600 jobs for BIPOC creators.

+ I feel like possibly this should be more of a No Filter situation but I’m using it as an excuse to remind you that the Batwoman finale is next Sunday.

+ The Boys Season 3 premiere is apparently one of the craziest things ever done on television. (Sadley I bet it doesn’t involve Bisexual Wonder Woman Queen Maeve…)

+ Chris Nee is helping create some of the gay, diverse, and inclusive cartoons we all wish we had as kids.

+ I can’t promise Kevin Can F*ck Himself will be gay but the concept still made my misandrist heart sing. (And the Annie Murphy casting made my gay heart do the same.)
