GAGA:
Wax and polish your ears for your virgin listen to the second track off Born This Way, “Judas.”
Lyrics:
Ohohohoh
I’m in love with Judas
Ohohohoh
I’m in love with Judas
Judas! Judaas Judas! Judaas
GAGA
When he comes to me, I am ready
I’ll wash his feet with my hair if he needs
Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain
Even after three times, he betrays me
I’ll bring him down, bring him down, down
A king with no crown, king with no crown
I’m just a Holy Fool, oh baby he’s so cruel
But I’m still in love with Judas, baby
I’m just a Holy Fool, oh baby he’s so cruel
But I’m still in love with Judas, baby
I couldn’t love a man so purely
Even darkness forgave his crooked way
I’ve learned our love is like a brick
Build a house or sink a dead body
In the most Biblical sense,
I am beyond repentance
Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind
But in the cultural sense
I just speak in future tense
Judas kiss me if offenced,
Or wear an ear condom next time
I wanna love you,
But something’s pulling me away from you
Jesus is my virtue,
Judas is the demon I cling to
I cling to
As for the music video, Gaga’s creative director Laurieann Gibson stated several weeks ago that the clip will be the usual Gaga shockfest.
“We don’t touch on things that we have no right touching upon, but the inspiration and the soul and idea that out of your oppression, your darkness, your Judas, you can come into the marvelous light,” Gibson says. “So it’s about the inspiration and to never give up … We’ve created a new Jerusalem.”
“I will tell you now, first off, I’m Christian, and my career is evidence of God in my life, and I think that most people are already thinking that Gaga and the blasphemy and they’re premeditating the approach and I think they’ll be very shocked to find out how huge and really groundbreaking the message is and how freeing the message is for all the right reasons, and it’s really going to shock the world.”
Meanwhile, on the latest episode of Gagavision (No. 43), she has a team meeting with the Haus of Gaga, discusses the “Judas” single cover above, gives an old friend some hilarious birthday presents and goofs around backstage between Monster Balls. Be sure to watch the previous episode of Gagavision in which she confronts a Christian fundamentalist picketer.
Finally, you know those extra cheek bones she’s been sporting lately? She gives a totally insane interview to Harper’s Bazaar in which she lets us know those prosthetics she has molded to her face aren’t “prosthetic” at all:
“Well, first of all, they’re not prosthetics. They’re my bones. They’ve always been inside of me, but I have been waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe who I truly am. They come out when I’m inspired. We all have these bones! They’re the light from inside of us.”
My fave quote from the interview comes when she discusses living in Los Angeles for a hot second a few years ago:
“I put my toe in that water, and it was a Kegel-exercise vaginal reaction where I clenched and had to retract immediately. I ran furiously back to New York, to my old apartment, and I hung out with my friends, and I went to the same bars.”
