This morning when I woke up my cat Socks was asleep in his smooshy bed with SHE-RA’S SWORD OF PROTECTION. I don’t know when or how, but at some point in some way he tore it out of the hand of the She-Ra action figure on the bookcase and carried it to his bed and snuggled down with it and fell asleep. Cats are such adorable monsters. Anyhoodle, I have prepared for you a piping hot Pop Culture Fix!
+ Raya and the Last Dragon‘s Kelly Marie Tran thinks her Disney princess is gay.
+ Related: Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon is a sumptuous fantasy, but it makes a mess of Southeast Asian culture.
+ Ella Hunt is queer, and I love this Twitter thread.
you don’t need to be sorry at all! I’m so sorry you had such a tough time growing up. I am queer and I am happy to be open about it ❤️ (I just get all kinds of nervous and fumbly in interviews sometimes)

+ Perfect casting — Edie Falco will play Hillary Clinton in Ryan Murphy’s Impeachment: American Crime Story.
+ Pose is ending with season three.
+ Billy Eichner’s got a gay rom-com on the way, and obviously that excites, but not as much excitement as I felt at first when The Cut called it “Let’s Go, Lesbians!”
+ St. Vincent’s new album, Daddy’s Home, drops in May — and here’s the first video.
+ In a new Variety Q&A with Janelle Monáe, she talks about how All In: The Fight for Democracy “motivated her to write a song about how America currently finds itself in mid-turn between a lie and real revolution.”
+ How Viola Davis’ Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom look was inspired by Bette Davis’ Baby Jane.
+ Niecy Nash makes me want to define my own career.
+ The invisible artistry of Asian actors.
+ What pop culture still makes you cry?
+ There’s a Party Down revival in the works at Starz.
+ I mentioned in last week’s Pop Culture Fix that Disney has seemingly pulled the plug on the Nimona movie — Collider says Chloë Grace Moretz was set to star, and hope isn’t lost.
+ WWE star Kayla Braxton came out as proudly bisexual.
+ Amber Glenn: America’s bi/pan skating star on coming out and breaking through.
+ The world is becoming more LGBTQ-diverse — TV should catch up.
+ And finally: GIVE DICKENS HER OWN TV SHOW!

ATLA, when Uncle Iroh sings “Leaves from the Vine” on his late son’s birthday still brings the feels every time I see it.
A Dickens TV show would be the best!
With a Dickens book to go along with it!
