It’s June 1st and Showtime heard that I was complaining about corporate Pride so they released the new teaser trailer of The L Word: Generation Q Season 2, so now everything is Bette Porter and nothing hurts. 🌈
Queer as in F*ck You
Sci-Fi TV Stars really love to hit the ground running in Pride (remember it was around this time last year that Chyler Leigh — otherwise known as Supergirl’s Alex Danvers — came out) and even one day in, thus far this year is no different.
Starting bright and early this morning with Legacies’ Kaylee Bryant!
Now I am no sci-fi queer, so I brought in the expert. Here’s Valerie Anne:
“Kaylee Bryant is queer, Happy Pride! The Legacies star (see also: Santa Clarita Diet, Chasing Life) came out with a simple statement paired with an adorable picture on instagram and twitter. Kaylee has been playing queer witch Josie Saltzman on the spinoff of The Vampire Diaries for the past few years; Legacies has gotten a lot of things wrong this past season, but one thing they’ve gotten pretty consistently right is that queer people are magic, witches are queer, and no one in Gen Z is straight.”
Then just an hour or two later — came out Krys Marshall from For All Mankind and Supergirl!! Once again, I turn you to the expert-in-charge Valerie Anne:
“Joining the time-honored tradition of coming out during Pride Month, Krys Marshall has announced that she is pansexual on Instagram. I don’t THINK she’s played queer on TV (yet) but she HAS been in queer faves For All Mankind as astronaut Danielle Poole and Supergirl as the Worldkiller called Purity, so between being a sci-fi actress and an out queer woman, it seems like it’s only a matter of time until she has an on-screen gal pal.”
Congratulations to everyone! Gays for all!

THREE sports content in the same day? Who am I? What has being gay done to me? (No but seriously, I’ve also noticed this as we’ve started covering more WNBA content. It’s important.) “In more than 550 articles that ESPN, CBS Sports, and Sports Illustrated posted over the 2020 WNBA season, Black players received significantly less coverage, according to new research published by Nicole Melton and Risa Isard.” Make This the Season We End Discriminatory Sports Coverage

Just to clarify, Chyler Leigh never labelled herself as bi – or anything else – when she came out.
Thank you! I’ll fix it.
(Before you gave her bio) I had to think a sec about Krys Marshall on Supergirl. Then I remembered she was “Purity”. She was absolutely *brilliant* in a Way-Too-Small role—for me, the BEST “Worldkiller” (Sorry, Reign). Imprisoned by the DEO, her psychological takedown of Alex was *bone-chilling*. Really want to see more of her. Mazel Tov on your marriage, gurl!
I’m fully admitting my ignorance here…but can someone clue me in as to what Rao meant in the article about Race2Dinner when she said “ Diana DeGette — “literally the patron saint of toxic white womanhood”?
I truly don’t know very much about DeGette, so I’m really interested in what I’ve missed about her.
