Lately I’ve been interested in what I can use around the house to knit with — other than yarn. My first thought was jute! To make this rustic charger and coasters set, use jute cord and (very) basic knitting skills.

You will need:

To make the coasters, cast on 8 stitches, and knit all rows until the coaster measures 4″.

To make the charger (which goes under warm dishes on the table), cast on 16 stitches and knit all rows until the charger measures 7″.

I love these for a Thanksgiving table! (PS – click here for instructions to make the gold-painted acorns.)
