Happy Monday and congratulations to the LSU Lady Tigers and their fans for winning the NCAA National Championship! I have created one (1) Pop Culture Fix, which isn’t exactly the same as winning a chip, but is still an accomplishment nonetheless.
+ Jinkx Monsoon, whose run on Chicago recently broke a ten-year box office record, is joining DOCTOR WHO! I am so glad this news broke today because it is too good to have been believed on April Fool’s! She’ll be joining Ncuti Gatwa’s new Doctor. About her role, Jinks said, “I’m honoured, thrilled, and utterly excited to join Doctor Who. Russell T Davies is a visionary and a brilliant writer— I can’t wait to get into the weeds with him and the crew! I hope there’s room in the TARDIS for my luggage.” I hope RTD has finally learned his lesson from Torchwood and doesn’t come in murdering anymore queers!
Hi Jinkx! ♥️♥️➕ ⛈️

+ I just found out about this podcast called Hey, Adora from a Twitter buddy. It’s about She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, if you’re missing that ragtag rainbow crew as much as I am.
+ Alison Steadman recalls filming British TV’s groundbreaking lesbian kiss — in 1974.
+ Why are queer scripted TV shows disappearing?
+ Ilana Glazer tells LGBTQ+ kids that being queer is “unquestionably beautiful.”
i think somebody misread the jinkx news i don’t think she’s necessarily playing ruby sunday – via hollywood reporter “Jinkx Monsoon, the actress, singer and two-time winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, will star the next series of Doctor Who in a major role, joining Ncuti Gatwa as the new Time Lord and Millie Gibson as the new companion Ruby Sunday. ” it’s saying millie gibson is ruby sunday (already cast) and jinkx is joining her.
You are correct! That wording did confuse me! Thank you, I’ll update this!
looks like trans actor Pete MacHale will also be in the new Doctor Who! https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/03/30/doctor-who-new-cast-pete-machale-trans/
Hannah Waddingham wanting to be killed by Villanelle makes me think that Villanelle should just pop up randomly in various shows. Grey’s Anatomy? The patient of the week was stabbed by Villanelle. L Word Generation Q? Shane hooks up with Villanelle as she’s in the middle of trying to kill Cherie Jaffe. Drag Race? This week’s Maxi Challenge is Girl Slay! Assassin Realness with special guest star Villanelle.
In other pop culture news, did we know that Showtime was going to remove Gen Q from streaming and I somehow missed that?? (The OG L Word is still there, but Gen Q seems to have disappeared in the past week?)
oh that is absolutely wild! i get my showtime through amazon and it looks like i can still *buy* the seasons but i can’t get them through my showtime subscription!!!!
Whaaat, that is literally the only reason I have Showtime right now! I guess I missed my window to actually watch Gen Q season 3. That seems like a very stupid thing to do, but what do I know, I am but a lowly bisexual viewer.
The POWER of JINX!
