Girl Rising is about nine young women paired with accomplished writers from their native countries in an effort to tell their stories and progress the global movement for girls’ education. The documentary is directed by Academy Award-nominated Richard E. Robbins and includes narration from the likes of Cate Blanchett, Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway, Salma Hayek, Alicia Keys, Meryl Streep and Kerry Washington.
Gold Stars is a webseries written, directed by, and starring Lane Moore (The Onion, Jezebel, McSweeney’s) who plays Cassie. It also features Molly Knefel (30 Rock, Melissa Harris-Perry) and Katie Compa. After Cassie quits her job in solidarity with Anna, a coworker she never spoke to, they both decide to move in together and become freelancers, taking on crazy, creepy, and sometimes dangerous Craigslist jobs.
