I hope your post about the Sky’s WNBA title includes many thoughts about #QueerMarriageGoals Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley winning a championship together against the same team they lost a championship to seven years ago when they were just a lil burgeoning couple, because if you ask me, a diehard Sky fan who saw them win in person last night, that’s the bigger story than hometown hero Candace Parker (although maybe not as big a story as Kahleah Fucking Copper as MVP).

    • I kinda feel like Candace Parker being queer and keeping it quiet (while her girlfriend decidedly has *not*) is a bigger story than the Vanderquigs, personally.

    • no one has to choose, both can get covered :) they seem happy to share/acknowledge each other’s efforts, so it’s an easy suit to follow.

      • But that’s just it: in the W, it’s only the white queer couples that get coverage. This is starting to change with the recent engagements that have come out of the league, but it seems like the only coverage the Black queer players in the W get is when they’re in trouble. Give us Black queer love stories, please!
