In my continued tour of “colleges that wouldn’t have granted me admission in 1999 despite my superior GPA and overall excellence,” next week I’ll be hitting up The University of Chicago to give a talk sponsored by “Queers & Associates,” which is a campus group for LGBTQI nerds!
Fun fact #1:Â You know that shady photograph of me I use as my “gravatar” here on Autostraddle? Although it’s too small and dark to make out, I’m actually wearing a Chicago Cubs hat in that photo. They really do have the cutest hats.
When:Â Thursday March 1st, 8:00 PM (they’ll be serving an actual dinner at 7:30, though, so you should probs show up for that.)
Where: HARPER 140 at The University of Chicago
Who: Me!
Facebook Page for Event: Right here
How Much: Free, duh
What will this talk be about, you may be asking yourselves. Well, now you and me have something in common, as I’m presently asking myself the same thing. Rest easy that I have a strong track record of producing last-minute brilliance and to be honest I do have an outline and some vague ideas but nothing that I’m married to. Because I can’t get married, it’s illegal! (Expect lots of jokes like that.)
Anyhow, you should come! If you have any feelings about what you think I should base my talk around, please share in the comments, you know how I do.
Fun Fact #2: My Mom grew up in Chicago.
Fun Fact #3: I was birthed in Champaign-Urbana, which is in the same state.
Fun Fact #4: Coming to this event will make you a better person.
