Jumko Ogata-Aguilar is an AfroJapanese and pocha writer and film critic from Veracruz, Mexico. She is currently writing her undergraduate thesis in Latin American Studies at UNAM. She writes fiction, essays and movie critiques, has been published by Revista de la Universidad, Vogue Mexico and the British Council of Mexico, and is currently a columnist for CoolHuntermx. Her work focuses on identity, racialization and racism in Mexico. She has taught antiracism workshops for Facebook, Twitter, Mexico’s department of Culture as well as non-profits in Mexico and the US.
