My reaction to the correction at the end of the NBC News article was equal parts face-palming and merriment.

That anime list is terrible. Regardless of the politics, queer narratives have been a staple of japanese culture for centuries. The Mary Sue wrtier is projecting their own Western perspective on another culture and it shows, I can’t believe they would list Kill La Kill of all things first AND Legend of Korra at the end as if japanese anime has nothing else to offer.
