What I Like
| Favorite Books | Short version: everything Haruki Murakami has ever written is perfect. Also, Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, and Lolita by Nabokov. I’m more into poetry and short fiction/essays than books, so…. poems!: Anne Sextion: “Live”, “Said the Poet to the Analyst”, “The Lost Ingredient”, “Her Kind”, “The Starry Night”, “The Black Art”, “For the Year of the Insane”, “Wanting to Die”, “Cripples and Other Stories”, “Just Once”, “Us” If you haven’t read The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot I will badger you until you do (also, of course, “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock”, “Hollow Men”, “Four Quartets”, “Ash Wednesday”, “Gerontion”) Others: “Parts Of An Argument” by Arda Collins; “The Girl Learns Forfeit” by Laurel Snyder; all of Tinderbox Lawn by Carol Guess; “The Paper Nautilus” by Marianne Moore…. augh there’s a lot more I don’t even know why I’m trying to list them all. |
