When Lena Waithe first heard queer indie R&B rising star Andy Allo sing “Angels Make Love,” she was enraptured. “The song moved me because Andy was so vulnerable on stage. She was obviously sharing something with the audience she hadn’t shared with the world yet. I felt like I was witnessing something special. And I was.”
The talented multi-hyphenate approached Allo about making a video for the song, which premiered this morning over at Out Magazine. It’s sexy, like the candle slowly melting on a bedside candle as you undress your lover for the first time. Perfect for the long nights of winter when the sun goes down at 4pm and your body aches for warmth. Queer (and straight) couples of all races, genders, and presentations, tangled together sweetly, reveling in those anticipatory moments before lovemaking. Sure, this is about sex, but less than a few seconds in the video and you’ll know it’s so much more. After all, our love has always been so much more.
