Also.Also.Also: Get in, Witches! “The Craft” Sequel Trailer Is Here

I took some time off, but much like the leaves changing colors, apple cider, pumpkin spice lattes, and that crisp air nipping at your neck, I’m baaaaack :)

Queer as in F*ck You

Yesterday I wore full leggings and heavy sweatshirt for the first time in months! The sun is setting at 5:30pm! I lit a candle! Welcome to spooky season, witches!

Listen, it’s my personal belief that all witches are gay and that’s just a fact. In particular, The Craft witches are DEFINITELY all gay, if only because they inspired 25 years worth of gay girls. Case in point, here’s a round up from the Autostraddle slack about the announcement:

Carmen (that’s me): I think it looks so good and I didn’t know how bad I wanted ittt to be good but now wow I really want it to be good!
Drew: “The trans girl only has one line but the protagonist has such short hair!” is what I just said out loud to myself. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Valerie: For some reason I thought it was a show when it was first announced but it being a movie and also blumhouse gives me more hope than perhaps is safe.
Shelli: IM UPSET ABOUT IT — but I’m gonna watch it and try not to judge.
Malic: This looks too cutesy. But I will absolutely watch.

Anyway, the reboot-sequel stars trans actress Zoe Luna as one of the core four witches, so get ready. Your quarantine Halloween just got gayer.

  1. FAT. BEAR. WEEK.

also demolish ableism ’cause i’m tired of people using lazy shorthand to criticize the president (‘he can’t hold a cup/walk down a ramp/etc’) instead of pointing to any of the dozens of human rights atrocities he’s got a hand in

  2. I’m not really into it (seems like a typical teen movie) but I’m getting gay vibes from this trailer (at least one of them has to be an lesbian!) and also, I’m interested in the comments to the original. Like Nancy’s photo. And I wonder if Sarah, Bonnie and Rochelle will be properly mentioned and/or make surprise cameo appearances? 💜🖤🦋

  3. Oh please let there be more than just a photo callback of Nancy in the Craft. I am way too excited for this.
