ESPN networks to televise 25 WNBA games in ’22. So I — not a sports gay — thought this sounded like good news, because more gaymes yeah, right? BUT Heather Hogan, consummate sports gay, has pointed out that the schedule emphasizes only like four WNBA teams, which really does put a damper on the league overall.

“…even though Judge Jackson’s confirmation is unlikely to change the outcome of issues before the court, firmly in the grip of its conservative majority of six, she has the potential to widen the perspective that is brought to how these issues are debated and discussed at the court’s conference. Am I the only one who HATES the name and logo that The Sports Bra went with?? I love the support bras provide and LOVE the idea but it feels like naming a men’s sports bar Jockstrap.
I think Jockstrap was a gay bar in WeHo. I like color in the Sports Bra logos but indifferent to the rest of it.
Funny you mention that because the space was previously occupied by a men’s bar called Joq.
I personally think it’s clever and descriptive and I am really excited to support a queer POC owned space that exclusively features women’s sports.
I am generally ambivalent about sporting but I wholeheartedly support a QBIPOC owned space for supporting women in any capacity, especially in a male dominated arena!!
Perhaps I’ll channel my inner high school cheerleader and learn some player names
