Not to toot my own horn (but to totally toot my own horn), my sweetie and I should be on this list. Met 30 years ago in college when she swept me off my feet from the moment I saw her, nursed an awful crush and longed from afar after she hired me at the college radio station, didn’t act on the crush because she had a girlfriend. She and said girlfriend moved to California, raised a family, and we lost touch for something like 25 years. She and her wife split, and I waited an acceptable amount of time before I started flirting relentlessly with her on Facebook, an act she said she noticed, but didn’t do anything about. Attended a radio station reunion (shut up, that’s totally a thing) on Zoom, told her about that crush in front of everybody, and a friend convinced me to text her. I did, and two weeks later, she asked me to be her steady girl. I mean, who falls in love after 30 years and during a global pandemic when the border between the US and Canada is closed? We do, apparently. I never do anything halfway. 😉

    My catholic roots are mortified by all the attention but also secretly very, very excited, as is their nature. Simply maddening.
