Mothers of the Movement spoke at the Democratic National Convention tonight. In the ten minutes they stood together on stage, they offered strength, hope, love, and a promise to continue to use their voices to amplify the message of Black Lives Matter. Within seconds of leaving the stage, #MothersOfTheMovement shot to the top of Twitter’s worldwide trends as the country came together to honor their courage.

These are the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, Jordan Davis, Dontré Hamilton, and Hadiya Pendleton.
