Yeah, I totally wasn’t studying right now and got distracted. Nope. Not me. I’m not here. I’m studying.
Oh that last part cracked me up, specially the, “endorsed by B-List celebrities.” Who is L.A./SoCal area can honestly say they haven’t done that? Does going to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffle house count? Cause more than a few occasions B-list rappers have mentioned it, or does it have to be more obscure, like a vegan restaurant a celeb was once spotted at?
thaaaat is exactly why I don’t let most apps show me notifications. I mean, I still procrastinate like a fiend, but it’d be even worse (is that possible?) if I had to deal with that too.
This is why Facebook doesn’t exist on my phone.
THAT TOO! ‘cept i’m bad and look at it in my phone’s browser. it’s a lot more of a pain in the ass that way, though, so i spend less time than i probably would otherwise.
I can’t even have it on my browser. I keep it logged off and I use LastPass to hold onto the password so it’s too much of a pain to access.
that’s a good idea. I’m ridiculous on my phone. I find myself opening my gmail app when I’m sitting on my computer with gmail on the screen in front of me. I need an app to keep me from opening apps or something.
this is the story of my life
Yet somehow you get *SO MUCH* done!
I am fighting this very thing right now.
Too. True.
This exact thing happened to me two days ago. I was merrily working on my latest project, a TV script (about space lesbians and dragons), but then of course I went to check one thing on Feedly and I fell down the rabbithole of notifications and links again. Including getting lost on Autostraddle for a while. And then I started texting a cute girl. And then I had two pages and a half after ~3 hours of writing and I still haven’t decided on a name for the dragon.
So so true, eugh!
But you know what stops me doing this? Listening to Grimes! Seriously that music has magic powers over me where I get all focused on my work and don’t even think about the internet.
Mostly.
I probably should also remove that tantalising ‘Autostraddle’ link from my bookmarks bar….
This is why I deleted all the clicky games from my phone and turned off all push notifications but FB messenger (which some of my friends use instead of texts)
