  2. Even though it eventually became awful and I stopped watching after season 3 (Dana *sob*) this show was so important to me. The first season especially just consumed my life for over a year.

    • You should still watch it. I didn’t watch TLW until Summer 2011, and I marathoned the entire show (all six seasons) in about a month.

      • me too!! Well, for me it might have been Spring 2009, but still. It got me through finals. I always catch on late.

        • I was marathoning Whe L word in Spring 2009 too… right about when it was ending on TV, I believe. Will never forget watching it with Spanish subtitles on YouTube while eating countless 100 Grand Bars and avoiding my 3D homework (for those who didn’t go to my art school, basically 3D=sculpture). Sorry, my lesbian awakening was more important than abstract cardboard shapes!

      • My brother bought me the entire box set for Christmas one year. I have marathoned this entire series at least 3 times…

      • I remember emerging from a long L Word marathon and catching some other show where a girl I was admiring started kissing a guy. I was so shocked, then remembered, ‘oh yes, real world has straight people’… Annnddd, back to my marathon I went.

  8. Awww. I’ve been in my feelings fort all afternoon and I was actually reading your old L word recaps and needed a break and saw this on tumblr and I was like How DId She Know?! Also the Yoda quote is written in the front page of my favorite self help book <3

  32. I’m going to admit to something…I couldn’t make it past the first two episodes of “The L Word.”

    I know, I know, I’m a terrible queer lady-person, but the second that Marina started making out with Jenny in the bathroom, my first reaction was not the good feelings in my queer soul, but rather;

    “Oh my GOD WOMAN, did you get CONSENT?!?!?”

    …and then everything was basically ruined for me.

  33. seasons 1 & 2…some of 3 were amazing. I just sat in front of my tv and watched for like a week. i only left my room to eat, restroom, back to blockbuster for the other episodes. Now it’s on netflix;)
