The Feminist Majority Foundation sponsors the Feminist Campus National Young Feminist Leadership Conference every year, promising a healthy mix of feminist activists with top political and feminist leaders. I’m proud to be one of the team members making this year’s 10th anniversary event happen, and I’d love to see your face there!
On March 29 and 30, hundreds of feminists will gather at the Double Tree in Crystal City, Virginia (right outside DC, and accessible on the Metro), to network, fall in love, and generally scare the sh*t out of all of the other people in the region with their high level of awesomeness. The activities — including workshops, plenaries, and panels — taking place during the first two days will touch on LGBTQ rights, reproductive justice, rape culture and campus sexual assault, education equity, global women’s rights, and more. After two days of strategy sessions, they head to the Hill on March 31 for a Congressional Visit Day, where all of the magic in the world happens during scheduled and orderly appointments with their representatives. After a briefing, duh.
For feminists on campuses across the nation, the conference will be a crash-course in effecting change within your campus community; for feminists in the workforce or who recently graduated, the conference is an opportunity to connect with professionals and organizations just as passionate as you are. Ultimately, you’ll come away having learned a lot, shared (and/or listened to) stories, basked in the glow of feminism for three straight days, and grown immensely as a person. Also, we’ll probably run into each other. A lot.
In an effort to make the conference widely accessible for folks from various economic backgrounds, FMF is offering discounted hotel rooms and a ton of fundraising resources to anyone interested in attending. (We’ll even be posting fundraising success stories on our blog as we count down the days ’til March 29.
But to really up the ante, I wanted to make sure y’all had a prime opportunity to attend, and so we’re offering discounted registration to each and every one of you — 25 bucks per person — if you register online with the code AUTO2014.
If you’re a campus activist, a young feminist, or a weirdo queer looking for a place to casually run into some of the best people on Earth, this is the event for you. Once you’ve registered, make friends and find a good ride to the conference on the official NYFLC 2014 Facebook event page and tweet with the hashtag #NYFLC2014 to find other folks who are getting amped and packing up all their favorite protest pins for the weekend.
In the words of Gwen Stefani, what you waitin’ for?
I’m into going to this. Anyone want to room together?
i will work on getting you a place, because i love you. ALSO IF ENOUGH OF Y’ALL COME OUT WHY DON’T WE HAVE A MEETUP.
OMG CAPITAL STRADDLERS BRUNCH IT UP
PS you could probably stay w/ me
Hey ya’ll… I won’t be able to attend the actual conference, as it is my last weekend in town before I depart for a two week trip, but I live in Arlington (which is really where “Crystal City” is) and I would love to do a meetup!
WAIT SO IT IS NOT UNTIL AFTER I HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED THAT I DISCOVER THIS ARTICLE AND THAT I COULD HAVE SAVED MONEY WITH AN AUTOSTRADDLE DISCOUNT???
Worth it.
And I’m so excited!! Can’t wait.

Anyone wanna meet up? I’m excited for this! Going with my club :)
