JESS’S TEAM PICK:
You should probably know that I love drag queens and anything that involves watching people cook, discuss or eat food. So, I was quite delighted to discover Honey LaBronx’s brand new “Vegan Drag Queen Cooking Show” earlier today. Now, this is Honey’s first shot at a cooking video as she aims to raise funds for a full production but it’s an interesting watch anyhow.
Honey says the site is for both vegans and non-vegans alike:
“This is a place where I can pass on what I have been learning since becoming Vegan and venturing into the kitchen. Whether it’s sharing recipes, educating about the animal suffering involved in a non-Vegan diet, or offering tips on how to wow your friends with delicious baked goods… It is my hope to help inspire, enlighten, and EMBOLDEN everyone to pick up their spatulas, let out a battle cry, and charge HEART FIRST into their kitchens!”
On the other end of the spectrum is the fully produced “Cooking with The Vegan Zombie” which incorporates an actual storyline with cooking segments. Set against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic invasion of the undead, “The Vegan Zombie” offers recipes coupled with survival tips. The show’s creator, who remains nameless, says he started the whole thing from a love of horror films and veganism.
Aside from some gory zombie-killing action, the show features segments on how to cook vegan dishes including daiya cheese sticks, stuffing and acorn squash, and french toast!
