Wow, money is everybody’s absolute favorite thing to talk about and think about, especially in online surveys. Right? Well, just kidding of course it isn’t but we’re hoping you like us more than you dislike talking about money, and you’d be so kind as to participate in this very important survey about two things: 1. Money (how you earn it and spend it), 2. Autostraddle (how you feel about it and do/don’t spend money on it).
There are questions about charitable giving, loans, living situations, discretionary spending and so much more!
Basically, we are trying to sort out our financial future (to sort out if we have a future at all) and understanding more about how our audience (a.k.a, “customers”) do money is very useful information for us. We do a lot of planning around what we imagine your financial realities to be, but very rarely ask you directly about it aside from an annual income question every few years or so on a random reader survey. Some of what we’re asking you for though are just pieces of information that we think will be valuable and compelling for potential posts about how queer women and trans people do money.
As you can see, I’m launching this survey at 9pm PST on a Monday night, which I expect to be a relatively slow time period on the internet. So if you spot any errors, please let me know in the comments so I can fix them before we social media this thing tomorrow at full force! However, when I fix a mistake, it sends everybody in progress on the survey back to the beginning of the survey, so I’m only gonna fix things that are really crucial rather than just suggestions, which I instead will file away on my extensive list of life regrets.
From our test runs, it should take you between 10 and 25 minutes to take this survey.
Weird is queer money day or something, cause I was listening to NPR today and they were talking about a queer money podcast that just came out. Its called Queer Money Matters if I remember corecly.
Just one typo! In the question about racial/ethnic identity, it says that you can pick “ore than one” (instead of “more”).
i have… finally fixed this
Can’t stop won’t stop loving surveys.
This is going to be so interesting!
Also: Don’t be like me, be smart and convert your income from whatever currency to Dollars right away… (I eventually went back and corrected the numbers.)
Wonderful survey, looking forward to seeing the results!
I’m glad I came on Autostraddle today; filling this out finally got me to get around to becoming an A+ member, which I’ve been meaning to do! (Facebook has recently been my de-stresser-mindless-scrolling habit these past few months, but freaking MoMo keeps popping up on my Facebook timeline, so here we are.)
<3
HOOORAAYYYYY WELCOMEEEEE!!! <3 another member :)
Filling out surveys about my money / money problems to procrastinate dealing with my money / money problems is a big moood for today 😂
I AM SO EXCITED TO FILL THIS OUT when I am not at work.
FILL THIS OUT AT WORK like I did!
I filled this out while laying in bed procrastinating getting dressed for work, even though I need to leave in about 30 minutes
Sav did we have the same morning 😂
So glad you guys are covering this subject! So important. I’m excited to see what the results look like <3
This bookkeeper is very interested in the results.
Fun survey! Just one small thing…for question 76, you have to give an answer (do you want kids in the future), even if you answered in 75 that you already have kids.
DELIGHTED to have “Quaker” as a religion option. My one wish is that religion could be a “pick all that apply” question rather than a “pick one” question.
thank you!!!
Who else is immediately excited for survey result posts before they even finish the survey? I live for the sweet sweet data. And also the collected free-text answers
For the question about your share of the rent/mortgage – is this meant to be per week, per fortnight, or what?
Per month.
Sweet, thanks.
Love surveys! Love you!
Hey! Did I miss trade school/ apprenticeship as an option on the education question, or is it not there? I have a Red Seal cert, which is not the same as an associate’s degree (not sure if we have those in Canada?)
I would put that in the “other” category !
The question on amount of money in savings is a little ambiguous to me. Does this include retirement accounts or just your evergency fund (liquid savings)? Adding some clarity could lead to more consistent answers across participants
I took it to mean all savings that are like, accounts, including retirement (as opposed to real estate etc).
I went with savings-account-only, since I consider anything in investments as money that isn’t accessible for use. I can’t touch it, so it’s not ~really~ there on a monthly financial level.
lol i bet y’all can guess who has less than $1k in their savings account by the fact that i didn’t even consider that lack of clarity!
i did mean for it to include money set aside for retirement as well, but if any of you answered it differently then that’s okay, i don’t think it’s enough to skew the results.
I had the same question… I checked the box that included the amount in my 401k but then I put a note in the “other” box too. I hope that doesn’t mess anything up!
I appreciate your thoroughness!!
Interesting survey. I really hope it’s helpful!
Excellent survey! I look forward to the results. I hope it provides enough answers for you to continue this wonderful resource
Done! I hope my answers were somewhat funny…
Done :o!
Thanks yall! I Love QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE DATA AND I ABSOLUTELY love it when ‘yall do it n’ share <3
Filled it out! Hope my stressing about student loans on every question that even remotely asked about it is helpful! lol
the coin falls to your stop price, it triggers a sell limit order. With a buy stop limit order, you can set a stop price above the current coin price. If the crypto rises to your stop price that we we talked about at https://cryptoplora.com/what-does-crypto-mooning-mean/, it triggers a buy limit order. If XYZ stays above the bid price of $16.50, a market order isn’t triggered, and you keep your shares. If XYZ stays below the ask price of $8, a market order isn’t triggered and no shares are purchased. If XYZ rises to the ask price of $8 or higher, your buy stop order becomes a buy market order.
