If you read our 28 Documentaries post, which you did, right, then you know that my feelings w/r/t Lil Wayne are very strong and complex and probably need to be worked out in therapy. I haven’t actually seen 500 Days of Summer, but Zooey Deschanel is very pretty and I understand that it is aimed directly at my demographic – skinny white girls who like to buy things from Etsy and think of themselves as too smart to enjoy romantic comedies. HOW FORTUITOUS, THEN, that there now exists an easily downloadable phenomenon that combines the two! Via our friends The Awl, 500 Days of Weezy is a weirdly soothing and genuinely enjoyable mixtape that combines the hip-hop stylings of Lil Wayne with the twee wind-chimey feeling of the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack. You’re welcome. Now have some syrup.

I’m sure I will be hated on for not liking 500 Days of Summer, but I will admit that the music is phenomenal. Likewise, Weezy F Baby is also phenomenal. (Glad to see I’m not the only one who thinks that going to Rikers to visit him would be an AWESOME idea, but I digress….) Thanks for sharing this, though therapy seems like a good route for both of us.
I didn’t like it either. That might have something to do with my irrational hatred of Zooey Deschanel, though.
I didn’t like that movie either! Zooey Deschanel is cute, but that doesn’t make up for her talentless monotone and lead guy was just too weak to make anything happen. Soundtrack saved the show (but not really…).
