This morning I was cleaning and refilling one of my fountain pens, and my cat Beth March hopped up onto the counter and knocked over a bottle of blue ink, and now my hands and Beth’s face are covered in orange ink. We look like a sunset exploded on us!
+ Last night was another very weird quarantine awards show, the 78th annual Golden Globes. There’s been a lot of rightful pushback against the Globes this year, with basically everyone besides the Hollywood Foreign Press Association protesting that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association — a group of 90 people that includes no Black members — has way too much power in determining all of awards season, and therefore way too much influence in what movies get made and what actors get hired (and make money). True! But! There were also some queer highlights and some queer people dressed up real nice!
Sarah Paulson, for example, had a Prada cast to match her Prada dress. Holland Taylor also has some feelings.
Laverne Cox was as stunning as she always is!
And Jodie Foster, who kissed her wife, Alexandra Hedison, right there on live TV, wore some very fancy pajamas.
The Prom’s Jo Ellen Pellman wore a kinda rainbow.
Cynthia Nixon is on her phone in basically all of her getting-ready photos, probably still fielding questions about how in the world anyone thinks Sex and the City will work without Samantha.
Please click through to see Kiersey Clemons’ post-Globes pizza.
And also click through to see Gillian Anderson in matching Dior with her dog!
+ Here’s a full list of Golden Globes winners.
+ Looks like Disney’s adaptation of Noelle Stevenson’s Nimona has been shut down.
+ Grace Semle is bringing queer stories to Christian music.
+ Avatar: The Last Airbender gets its own studio for spin-off content, including the animated movie.
+ My Name Is Pauli Murray is coming to Amazon.
+ Here’s the trailer for the final season of Shrill.
+ And The Handmaid’s Tale season four teaser.
+ Kate McKinnon shows how awkward post-pandemic flirting will be (seeing Kate McKinnon flirt with men will always be awkward to me).
+ Inside Joss Whedon’s toxic and cutting world of Buffy and Angel.
+ Younger will end with season seven.

Any other older lesbians (or otherwise identified folks) find watching Jodie Foster win and kiss her wife surprisingly emotional? It felt similar to how listening to Dirty Computer feels. Like I was so happy for this person who has had such a journey to get to this place, and I hope someone they love is giving them a big hug 🤗
LOVE Kiersey’s dress & how they wear it!
