Truth: I have done this. My friend is a doula and prenatal massage therapist and makes “yoni steam” blends and gave me some. I gave it a shot during postpartum time a few years ago. It smelled nice and felt warm and comforting. And you can do it safely. I haven’t done it since then, and I have steamed my face plenty of times, taken baths and done face masks and other self care stuff, so that speaks to how it wasn’t mind blowingly awesome, just a nice thing to do. I’m giving birth in the next month or two and I might do it again. I have the ingredients for a postpartum herbal bath but haven’t gotten any “yoni steam” together because I could take it or leave it.
Wanted to add I think Gweneth Paltrow is notorious for recommending this type of stuff. So yes.
