I understand what Stacy is saying here, and there is no doubt that What Not Wear is badly dated, but I still throw a blazer on to fancy up an outfit and I would like to let her know that she is welcome to yell at me about my fashions anytime!

  2. I wish I could access that article about Stacy London. I really appreciated What Not to Wear back in the day. Part of it was the fact that she and Clinton tried to make women see that they could look good no matter what, and built up women’s confidence. I know a lot of it was built around a very stereotypical idea of femininity, but it was so great to see them tell some women “you can show your arms”. Of course there were moments of “you’re fifty stop wearing mini skirts”, but overall I thought it was a very empowering show.
