Lane Bryant made my plus-size lesbian dreams come true this Pride season with the release of their incredibly beautiful and much appreciated Pride Collection! The collection includes swimwear, graphic tees, and intimates sets like this rainbow trimmed beauty.
The entire collection is gorgeous. I literally squealed in excitement when it was released because fashionable, good quality, plus-size Pride threads are still incredibly rare. I often find myself envious of the seemingly endless rainbow clothing options that appear on racks during Pride season in stores that only cater to straight sizes. Usually I drive away my jealousy with the knowledge that I wouldn’t want to support most of those stores anyway since they’re blatantly capitalizing off of queer culture without giving any of those profits back to the queer community. That’s where Lane Bryant comes in with another win! They donated $20,000 worth of profits from The Lane Bryant Pride Collection to GLSEN, a national education organization that works to make schools safe and affirming spaces for LGBTQ students.
As if that wasn’t gracious enough, the wonderful team at Lane Bryant also sent me a bralette and panty set from the collection to try out and review for Autostraddle readers, and it is now my absolute favorite set to wear.
The rainbow straps on the bralette and crisscross detail on the bottoms are literally everything! The material is super soft and has just the right amount of stretch. It basically feels like sexy pajamas, making this the perfect set for lounging around the house and maybe getting cozy with a cutie.
The bralette easily works into outfits as well! I took it for a spin at a Pride party paired with a simple white skater skirt and it was perfection. I had no problem dancing and felt sexy all day.
If showing off your pride by way of rainbow-accented lingerie sets, swimsuits and casual wear is something you’re interested in, I cannot suggest more highly that you get your hands on something from this collection right now! Especially because it’s already selling fast, and limited edition means that once it’s gone it won’t be restocked. Here’s hoping this is just the first of many Lane Bryant Pride Collections!
I wish they had more stock, so much stuff I want, so much stuff sold out.
came here to comment on how excellent this is, but had my brain WIPED CLEAN 404 NOT FOUND after that last pic, reneice
Agreed! And that’s all the words I can muster.
Ghghghghgh. Synapses blown
Whew. I’ve scraped my brain back together after the mind-blowing power of Reneice’s illustrations (very through reporting, Reneice. I commend you), and I really think Lane Bryant is missing a golden opportunity to reclaim “Come To My Window” from Applebee’s by not offering Reneice a million dollars for that one photo. You know the one I mean.
Also, the lingerie is nice. Good job, Lane Bryant.
OMG that’s fantastic
That is a great idea.
Whew! They still had something in my size! I’m mourning the lost opportunity of that adorable rainbow racer back bralette, but luckily I have some rainbow panties on their way who are very happy to dry my tears and make it all better!
Thanks for the write up, Reneice!
(Also you are a babe!)
This is great news all around.
The bralette is sold out! :(
Do you know if the collection is sold in stores, or just online? There’s a brick & mortar that I could go to. I just want that bralette!
One of the two Manhattan stores closed, and the other is an outlet now (which means they probably wouldn’t have the Pride line…). I’m so sad now.
Hi Rachel, I haven’t been in a while, but there used to be a brick and mortar on Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn. It always did big business, so I assume it’s still there. And I promise promise PROMISE it’s only one stop or (max two stops) from the bridge.
Happy searching!
RENEICE!!! Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor…
The bralette was sold out, but I’m quite pleased with myrainbow undies that I probably don’t need but also definitely DO NEED.
