Hayley Kiyoko’s new music video “Curious” from her upcoming debut album Expectations set the queer internet on fire when it dropped yesterday. After seeing her in concert and watching her other incredible videos, I already had some idea she was capable of this, but “Curious” cements it. The song has Hayley singing to a girl she’s been hooking up with who’s also still with a boy. It also features a heavy beat that pumps below the melody and a catchy “toucha, toucha, toucha” hook that combine to make the song really stand out.

In the video we see Hayley lying on the floor in a pile of women rubbing their hands all over her, dancing in sweats and a loose Hawaiian shirt ala Leo Dicaprio as Romeo, and finally making out with a beautiful girl on a bathroom counter. Every scene is hot in a different queer way. It’s like Kiyoko is using every muscle in body and move in her repertoire to drag queerness to the front of her entire music career. It’s a beautiful thing to see and so is this video.
